New touchscreen making estate agency windows interactive
2009-09-25

Digital signage firm Indigo Vision are making estate agency windows interactive. Their brand new touchscreen, Indigoactive, allows customers to search the agent’s entire portfolio of property while standing on the pavement outside. The Cardiff based firm has spent a year developing the unique technology which shops can use to engage with their customers 24 hours a day.

Passers-by can use the shop window as they would a computer screen and search for a property by size, price and location. They can then browse through photos of the selected properties in an ipod-style carousel and look at more specific details of individual properties including interior photographs, location maps and GoogleÔ Street View.

It also includes an on-screen keyboard to enable users to request property details and viewings via email. These are sent directly to the branch, enabling staff to follow up enquiries. Users can also request mortgage consultations and property valuations. Other interactive features of the system include a mortgage calculator and a feedback section where users can evaluate both the agent’s level of service and the touchscreen facility.

South Wales estate agents’, Peter Alan have already completed a successful trial of the system and are in the process of rolling it out across further branches. Sales Director Andrew Barry says: “The touch screen is a cost effective way of interacting with consumers 24 hours a day. The touchscreen enables us to showcase our services as well as offering the consumer an informative snapshot of information they require”.

The Indigoactive system has the advantage that it can be easily transferred to kiosks or other touchscreen facilities, either within a branch or at remote locations, providing even more opportunities to get in touch with customers.

Great initiative, this allows consumers to be more interactive and the informative snapshots are great for advertising the property. This will defiantely draw more attention and consumers will always come back to see more properties to be displayed

This gives a whole new approach to the conventional methods that are used. Its effective, advanced and allows for much more engagement for consumers to tap into the property given all the details with just one touch! I’ve tried it before and much say- impressive indeed!

I agree with Sarah, this approach will draw attention to every passer by. Because of its modern look and adaptable technology people are able to gain more details where the property is concerned, this is great for the modern living we all are exposed to day by day

Estate agents

With this said, (without sounding like our infamous Jules Bending) is there any need for estate agents? “Modern living” does not seem to have any need for them anymore! And here we thought HIPS was useless!

On the contrary Mr. Heartless Pete. If you read the article thoroughly you will be able to see that the new device is hardly a replacement for estate agents, it only improves the search methods being use my customers allowing them to search the agents entire property portfolio 24 hours per day. This does not have any mention as to “replacing any estate agents”, I suggest you do your homework, better yet, read properly or don’t comment at all!
