Property Information Questionnaire

The introduction of the Property Information Questionnaire as a required part of the Home Information Pack on 6th April 2009 was widely criticised. Many thought vendors would struggle to fill it in and as it must be completed before a property could legally be marketed, industry professionals assumed it would hinder the process of marketing the property.

Pali Ltd made the decision in December 2008 to start including PIQs in all of the full hips they produced as an authorised document. It was rapidly discovered that that they would not be as much of a hurdle as first thought. The PIQs were filled in at the same time the EPC was carried out and the vast majority of vendors had no problem answering the questions.

Now that the PIQ is a required part of the Hip, Pali offer their clients a variety of ways to assist them in completing the form. The simplest way is to email the vendor a link which when clicked takes them to a website enabling the PIQ to be completed online. The whole process is very quick and once the vendor clicks save, the PIQ is automatically created and added to the Hip. This means once an order is placed the PIQ can potentially be completed within minutes. Other options are available if the seller does not have internet access.

Although the usefulness of the Property Questionnaire is yet to be proven, if you use the right Hip Provider it certainly should not cause any problems.
